Two more approved for Istockphoto.com. Lady from India and Barbecue Party Girl.
My aim is to create double the amount of illustrations I have on istockphoto.com this year. Which means, I had 125 from February 2008 to December last year. This year I need to do at least 250 more. So far I’ve got just 15 in 3.5 months, so I’d better get my act together a bit. 198 to go, which means about 22 a month. Yikes, I just did that calculation and then redid it. Ahhemmmm! well that will be a lot of midnight oil burnt; but it’s a target.
This wasn’t a New Year resolution or something. I was griping in the forums about how my monthly downloads had been sliding like crazy, even allowing for some glitches on the site, and someone helpfully pointed out that I really wasn’t growing my portfolio at the rate I should be. So it was no wonder that I was less visible. That’s the first time I started counting the ‘competition’ so to speak, and I don’t know how they do it but some of the people on that site that I consider really good artists had done about 100 since the beginning of 2011, as apposed to my 10 at the time.
Let’s face it, I love doing this stuff, but I’m not cut out for the artist in a garret thing. If they didn’t sell, I would just stop. Well, I don’t want to stop, so I better move my mouse on it!
